My Girl - Jhing Yein

Bridesmaid - Jhing Yein
(Known : 13 years)

Well where do I start? Some people are born to be sisters, some are born to be best of friends and some are born relatives. Jhing Yein is the last girl that I will give my shout-out to! She is my little cousin. Known her since she is little baby girl, how to say it? I saw her grow up and I remember very well when she is just a little girl (maybe around 3 years old) her mom (my auntie) told me, "when you get married church style you got little flower girl"

Little flower girl is all grown up now! She is no flower girl, guess I took too long a time to settle down and now she is my bridesmaid. This is how I have known my last girl and my first choice! A pact that I have agreed since she is little. I am proud and am thankful that, being a young girl, she do not prefer pink and never had a high heel... But trust me, after she slip into this first pair, she will be transited into a world of beautiful wonder that makes a lady! (Remembering me having my first heel when I was only thirteen! - Well I grow up fast! Now I wish I take a little slower!)

The days are counting down and we are ready to rock!

My girl, one day she will grow up to be beautiful....

RSVP - ROUND 1

When the notices are all served, the job that is left is one of the most interesting part! Doing the RSVP. Before I go into the full story, I wanted to start off by saying, I began to understand why Chinese wedding dinner usually invite any Tom, Dick & Harry, uncles and aunties, distance cousins, seen-once-in a bluemoon relatives, never contact ex-colleagues and don't know how they look like anymore old classmates! Reason is very simple and I have summarized it into one sentence "If 50% doesn't turn up.... At least another 50% still does!"

Well we do not want to do this, therefore we are now suffering from the consequence! We both agreed that we should do something very personal and only invite people who we consider friends to us, irregardless if they could afford to bring us good gifts or big "ang-pow"! We wanted to make our wedding a place where we celebrate with people who matters to us (relatives unavoidable!), people who has offer friendship to us, and once share some moments with us!

What do we know now that we do not before sending out the cards?? Well we did a first round of asking if they are free on our day and they agreed! And once the card arrives! People start to show their colors! People that we think might be friends are actually not that friends actually! People who we seems like showing some concerns are actually some "kay-poh" (busybody) who loves to have a scoop of what's happening to everybody's life instead of truly caring for us!

But it is also a good thing that we do know now! Ok! Back to the RSVP! We call up people and the worst respond that I have gotten that truly disappoint me is that, that person did not want to reply my text or answer my call. Initially at first agreed to attend! So I wanted to pass the card to him and he told me to post it to him instead! And I did so,  and when all my other postal friends has gotten their card and responded! This person did not pick up my calls, no reply on my text messages and fb messages! Therefore I gave up! I did not want to make myself so low in order to have you here! So be it! At least if that person could not make it please have the courtesy of telling me! Don't make stupid promises! This is not a child plays! We order those food based on RSVP!

Another one is my hubby's friends, before things were announced they keep asking "when is ur big day" "Do invite me for your wedding!" and so on with their questions, when it comes to responding to actual calls this people doesnt respond! Well stop being childish! Learn to face situations like adult and say no if you couldn't make it! Nothing is wrong! Well there you go!

We are not angry because there are people who are truly our friends and will never say no or will never complaint going the extra miles with us! And we are glad to keep them for life! Even more surprising, people that we consider backups eventually turn up and agree to arrive early for our big day! That makes us guilty to some sort BUT now first round RSVP is over! And people who agree to come has made me smile and I know very well we are going to enjoy ourselves and do hope people that say YES will have a good time

My Girl - Cindy Hang

Another one of my girls that I want to give a shout out to is Cindy Hang

Bridesmaid : Cindy Hang
(Known: 1 year)

Cindy is the one girl that I have known the shortest yet has come to be my bridesmaid! Yet I should call her a blessing! I was having bridesmaid problem many months ago when I first planned my wedding! It was almost frustrating to have to plan for who is going to be my girls! I only wished that my best friends to be my bridesmaid! But then it was through that moment that I know who my best girls are and I am going to keep them for the rest of my list!

I get to know Cindy through my very best friend, my brother - Lawrence Ong! He has been with me a lot! And I appreciate his time spend with me! He brought along Cindy many months ago when we went out for drinking! He always bring her! Maybe because she is sociable. I came to like her once I get to know her! We went out drinking for a few times and she instantly volunteered at the moment like a prayer answered in times of trouble! I was having a little glitch with bridesmaid at the time she volunteered, and at the count of three i took her up!

I think I would like to know her as a friend over dinner and not over drinks! So here is she, the girl who is the answer to my prayer and the one that I would like to be friends with given chance! Cindy :)
Here is she my girlfren! In one of our outings.... :)

Then there is the WINE!

There are many things that we have settled as the day draws near! There is always this one thing that we put off till now! We couldn't put it off any longer! Then there is the WINE! The trouble with Wine is that, wholesalers do not have any tasting for us in their shops! With so many wines on the shelves! We would just have to go with the instinct picking up any that we might think taste nice! Its just like shopping for vegetables or fruits! You wont know how it taste like until you buy them back home, open it and drink up! When I say drink up... It is like the whole bottle!

Bet ya! I am glad that we finally came to the conclusion of the wine that we wanted before we both became alcoholics... We wanted to choose a wine that is nice and taste good. A wine that when you drink it down, it taste good instead of "Yucks! Sucky! and instantly we know it is a cheap wine!" We do not want to settle with cheap stuff but at the end people do not enjoy good taste of the things we serve! We have lamb, therefore we have to pair it up with something real nice! We tried many varieties! MANY!

If you are looking for Wine! This one is a NO! NO! The only taste is SOUR! Nothing else

We had tasted some wine on weddings and we instantly do a mental list and strike it out from our list! That safe time for us to go through and buying it! Somehow it is funny that when we walk into a wholesaler, they always tell us the cheapest wine and with the same tagline "This is the wine that a lot of people buy for their wedding, I can offer you at the price of XXXX" Well we usually will politely answer "Well thank you, we are looking for something nice!" Is it a trend that people go for err... how to nicely put it.. "Affordable low price wine??" Perhaps!

After drinking through and tasting varieties we settled for this one! This is a winner!

"EAGLE CREEK - RUBY CABERNET"

It tasted really smooth when we first drank it, and the smell is really nice, fragrant and fruity. When it is in your mouth it does not taste bitter, as many wine has bitter aftertaste! This one doesnt have and it makes you want to drink more! (Don't get wasted! Its my wedding y'all) Plus when we drink it, its has very light smell and its very easy to swallow! Overall excellent! Matter of fact when we took our first sip! We immediately say! "This is the one we are looking for!"

So this is it! The one that you guys be getting on 18th February 2012.....

This is the one that you will be getting.. Nice! Drinking it now :)

My Girl - Esther Wong

Been slacking a little for this two weeks, as the day draws nearer, a thousand and one thing will somehow immerse itself and scream "I think you forgot us!" and this has been happening to us, as the day now is one month away!

As promised i dedicate each one of my blog posting to my girls! So here it is.

Bridesmaid - Esther Wong
(Known : 3 years)

Among so many of my girls, I known Esther the shortest of time, she is the same age as my sis and I was surprised to know her age the first time because she seems to be mature and very down to earth. Esther used to be my ex colleague and I began to regard her as my friend from her fun loving character, a little like me we are both very fun loving and we both made funny remarks that at times people cannot grasp!

I remember telling her about my experiences and she has gave me some good advice at times in spite her age. I believe that our friendship has been through a certain kind of testing last one year when things untrue about me were spread around and she is one of the person in which the fumes were thrown at! She chose not to listen to that kind of insanity and remain as my friend till today. One thing I like about her is that she is very forgetful and than she always am cheerful in all situations. Therefore it is no doubt that I asked her to be one of my bridesmaid when it comes to my special occasion.

I hope that therefore our friendship will remain until a long time and that we will be stronger then....

Here we are during one of our makan makan time.. Told ya we are silly! She is even sillier!

Karaoke time... That is one of favorite activity! (At the back! Edmond! One of my BFF! Love him...)
