Turt Kids Adventure to Cameron Highlands

We went for our road trip to Cameron Highlands about two weeks ago! We were thinking bout something like K.K seafood vacay but then we changed it last minute before booking to Cameron instead because if we were to take the airplane we will not be able to bring our turt kids along. After thinking for a little while we decided on Care-a-Lot road trip! That will be ideal to bring the boys and the two naughty ones together.... Ideal...

We started to search for the right way to transport these naughties in a car. Many sites we found online discouraged us from bringing them along. But there are a list of suggestions for those who insist to bring their adorable ones along. So we read that carefully and were on our way to a wonderful time. This was basically how we transported them. We are blessed to be in hot sunny Malaysia so there was no need to worry about keeping the temperature right for them as we drove to our destination. The journey took us 6 hours, we stopped occasionally to mist them and also gave them water to drink and play in but overall was just fun! They were moving about making lots of noise and enjoying themselves. Halfway through the journey, Lapael (right side) pooped and make a mess out of it (we didn't feed them in the morning and even let them pooped before starting journey! Still Lapael is a poop machine)... We had to scrub it up later.

Cameron gets very cold at night, it is cooling in the morning and in the afternoon if it doesn't rain the temperature would be just nice. It was rainy when we got there, we get sunshine in the morning and it poured in the afternoon dropping the temperature to cold at night. No worries we are prepared for these things. This is when we arrived, quickly we sent them into nice warm water for a swim! Brought Dona girl girl's favorite rock for her to play and before minutes she was at it. Swimming up and down, in and out of her rock! Raphael just continue swimming and produced more poop!

We fed them in their normal tub (forgot to capture the pics) and served them their favorite romaine lettuce for them to munch and kept them occupied while we cooked dinner in our steamboat pot! Thinking about the steamboat pot makes my mouth water! Lovely. When we are done, we just set them up for the night.

Yes! We brought the heat lamp and also hot pack to keep them warm. Alright I was all maternal instinct ON! I fell asleep to them walking about in the tub loudly and woke up in the middle of the night to check on them and changed their hot pack so that they remain warm! Well nonetheless these kids knew how to make themselves at home. I woke up to find Dona sleeping while Raphael basking full length underneath the light! I was worried about them but thank God, He had made them intelligent creatures and they adapted just fine! When morning came, we let them roamed free in the room because we took the large room and it was just spacious and nice!

Here is Dona doing her Brave Girl roaming. (Towel on the floor to keep them warm)
Here is Raphael "Lapeal" free-styling in the living hall area.
(Raphael: Human! Can I have some privacy to roam please?)

We let them roamed free in the later part of every morning where there were sunlight but we kept our on eyes on them to make sure they did not get into those spots where we couldn't retrieve them (e.g: underneath the bed or fridge) and also to ensure they do not fight. Thank God they were naughty, cheeky and healthy throughout the trip and I bet they enjoyed it a lot. We arrived home and they have fallen asleep as usual. We have to gently wake them up and carry them back home. Dona threw a fit and refuse to eat but she is back to normal the next day chomping on her pallets and romaine lettuce. As usual Raphael were his normal self as we fed him and put him back into his home. There he is in his tank doing his normal favorite pose the super "turtboy" pose...

It is all about preferences. Just like some said it is better to leave them at home, while some ppl even set up temporary kiddie pool for them to play in during vacation (we are going to try that next time when we go to hotter places). It is up to us to gauge whether what is ok and what is not and to provide the best of environment for them. For those who prefer a no hassle vacation, then you can send them for boarding or we call it pet hotel here in Malaysia or leave them with a relative who are willing to feed and take care of them during your absence. As for us, we are bringing them along because it is fun when we go together on a holiday. Peace and love from Carebears family!

Ít's about Love, Food, B.Boys and Turt Kids..
It's tea-time hangout with the boys! Steam "man-tou" and corn!
See the steamer at the back! Oh yeah! We bought whole lot more!

Turt Kid Raphael to the vet and back

Turt Kid Raphael (better known as "Lapael" nowadays) are alright! Thank God! We had a little shock when Raphael Boy did not shed properly and he begin to retain scutes! The shedding process began a little about two weeks ago and more parts of his shells are beginning to get all silver-ly looking, so I got a bit sensitive and scared (read too much details from the internet as well) when I saw Raphael started to develop some dark spots underneath the scutes! I began looking for vets around my area here in Johor!

I told my husband about it and realized that it was quite difficult to find a reptile pet! I began calling the list prepared by Malaysian Veterinary Department and many of the vets told me that they do not treat turtles! Red eared sliders are reptile so they do not do reptiles but more to dogs, cats, birds and rabbits! I even found a fish vet! I called almost half of the list when finally i manage to find a vet that said he treat reptile (turtles) Yay! I was way happy!

Hubby and I brought Raphael to the vet on Saturday! Oh my! Raphael isn't tense at all! I put him in a tub and he was having so much fun walking around the tub on our way to the vet! Got his name registered and in he went to see doctor! There! There! Naughty Raphael! He wasn't afraid when the doc lifted him up and to get some samples to test out the spots! He was walking to and fro and up and down the tub! For almost 20 mins the doc picked him up and checked on him! All the spots swabbed and were examined. After a while the test came back and thank God, Raphael is OK! Everything looks normal and doc even said Raphael is healthy as can be and active little buddy! The dark spots apparently is normal pigmentation found commonly on male turtle! So we paid the bill and went home happy!

Am really glad that Raphael is ok! As of today, Monday, Raphael had shed off three of the scutes and two more are coming off! Well it was me who overreacted then! But better to get him properly checked than to assume things! After all the bill is MYR60 and it is better than worrying about it all day long!

Overall it is good that we found a vet for Lapael and Dona so to make sure they get proper care!

Here they go at it again! Raphael and Dona doing their weekend turtles walk session with "human-papa"! Husband disallowing Raphael to go into the guest rooms because Raphael will roam into the hard to reach area and we will have difficulties getting him! See police traffic asking Turtle Trooper Number 1 to turn around! Suprisingly he did turned around and walked to his left exploring other areas of the home! Naughty boy!

Annual Raya Project - 2014

It's always the once a year thing for hubby and I to do something nice during the Hari Raya season to give to his fellow colleagues! We gave cookies and Tupperware stuff for the past two years and I thought to make something nice and not stick to the same thing every year! Plus it is pretty late already for the Raya edition catalogue and Tupperware always am out of stock by the second week of their catalogue run. Another thing is I do not like the design of the this year edition of Raya container from Tupperware! So I got an idea to pack our own cookies and dates and then wrapped it up nice. Hubby and I went to Aeon Tebrau to purchase these items! All under one roof!

It is simple and easy to do! Printed out some really simple designed Tiny Raya cards with our faithful printer and started unpacking the bottles and packing all the dates and biscuits into each and every bottles with hubby's help. Each person will get a bottle of dates and another of cookies! Just like below

This is how it looks like! Made a small little flower ribbon to go with it too. Yeap! Got it right! Now all I need to do is make 18 of those exactly! Toot! Toot! Toot!

FOUR HOURS LATER.....

Ta-dah! Hence the day's work is completed! Everything is stored into a box for hubby to give it to his colleagues! Yay a happy girl indeed I am! Thank you Father for blessing the works of my hand! Amen!

More Turtles Improvements

Here we go, turtles home with all the newly bought improvements. We are currently still looking for best position for all the items but for now I guess these are the best and both turtles like it! I only could pray to God that they live peacefully although many experience turtles owners said otherwise! I still see signs of aggression in Raphael! I took to separating him out when hubby and I are not around. With the new tank improvements, I will tell you its fun indeed for both of them. Dona still couldn't decide whether she wants the top of the cave-rock or the dock area! Sadly Raphael has not learn to get acquainted with the dock! Guess it will be more adjusting later as the long holiday is coming! Hubby just love them to bits and will definitely do more renovations to the tank!

Here is Dona doing her morning swim.. She always likes to stick to us when we are standing near the tank. So here she was this morning following me around as I walked around to take the sideways picture of the tank. Later she will climb up the rock and rest again. She usually rest a lot on the rock! Occasionally jump into the water for a swim. Right now as I am typing, I am keeping an eye on "Rap" because he is in the tank and creeping nearer to Dona on the rock! I will leave for a happy Tuesday!

New Toys For Our Cuties

The fighting started! Yeah! Shared that Raphael is a little territorial and likes to use his jaws to assert his presence and sometimes to discover things! So he started biting Dona the other day! We caught him red-handed and hence papa scolded him and we separated him into a smaller tank! But we still put him in like we said when we are around so that he felt included!

Oh my! Tried putting in lettuce for them to chunk and they really like it a lot! Especially Dona! She been chunk-ing, clinging and playing with the lettuce ever since! Hence we need this little fish net to pull up some of the chunks that the filter missed!

In order to solve the fighting/ biting problem, husband put on his thinking cap and we drove out to look for something nice for our two naughties! We went to this aquarium shop called Pacific Aquarium Center in Taman Ungku Aminah at Johor Bahru and it was paradise for reptiles! Oh! They had quite a few nice stuff for turtles too! So we bought this Turtle Bank/ dock for Raphael to climb on but so that he doesn't have to fight with Dona over at the rock area but, so far it was Dona who is clinging to the dock! This girl really cannot decide yet where she wants to bask!

Two different types of plants for them to play (Blue for Raphael and Pink for Dona) and yeah we collected two rocks yesterday for Raphael to push around in the tank! This is definitely going to be fun for them and even better for us to watch! We just installed them into the tank after scrubbing it with soap and then clean soak it hot salt water. Both are still exploring and getting to know the new stuff! Dona the brave girl doing a whole lot more exploring! Started off by biting the artificial plants (every single corner of it) and then she swam to the new side (the dock side) and started clinging onto it! After that she went down and swim slowly but her eyes averting from left to right to check out what we added into the tank! Raphael?! Well he does what he likes to do best! Swimming FRANTICALLY and hanging to the heater / filter.

Happy turtles indeed!

Fussing About Turtles - Red Eared Sliders

Basically these days we are just fussing about turtles! Hubby and I adores them and their little tricks! They are small but full of characters! These kids are growing by the day and they are showing personalities and different sides of themselves! We are definitely entertained!

Here now introducing :

Raphael's the name....World! When we first adopted him, he was very scared and always hide into his shell. Now he is energetic and cheeky! He is always swimming to and fro, up and down. The only time he stops is ZZZ time! ZZZ time also is just a short while by the side of the rock or basking top side or under the rock! He is up to being very naughty nowadays! We had scolded him a few times and put him in the naughty boy box once because he likes to use his mouth to push his ways through! (Bites!) His favorite things are swimming frantically, hanging by the heater (It warms his plastron (Yellow part) and he likes it!) and feeding time! (He is a naughty food beggar! No amount of sticks are enough for him) He likes to follow me around in the tank, when I walk to the left, he will swim right to the left and when I got to the right, there he will be! But when I turn to ask him what he wants he will just swim away! Very playful and indeed getting bigger by the day!

What I said about swimming frantically?!? Always that way, its hard to keep up with him!

Now without further delay, presenting :

Yes! Yes! Dona is a GUUURRRL! She is the calm and peaceful one! When she swims she just paddle about gently as compare to Raphael who puts all his energy into it! Dona is the gentle soul, from the way she swims to the way she waited for her food to soften before eating them (so it usually takes longer time for her to finish her food). Sometimes her gentle spirit has given advantage to Raphael to bully her! Raphael did make attempts to bite her but Dona is a tough girl! She move away giving Raphael a kick! We usually monitors them closely and when we weren't around we will separate them to keep Dona safe! Dona is not growing as fast as her brother but nonetheless she is bigger than when we first adopted her! Dona is the inquisitive one, always takes her time to look around, to feel her surrounding and also carefully entering new territory! Although gentle she is the brave one! When we first installed the new home for them (yeah! Terrace house to bungalow), Dona is the first one to swim about and feel the surrounding and climbed unto the rock to bask and feel the warm of the basking light! Among her favorite things are pictures taking (Yeah! She usually just stand there or just float by the water when we are taking her pictures!), giving us side eyes (She love that!), basking on the rock with both legs wide open, being a vacuum cleaner (she loves to go to the bottom of the tank and kind of just suck up the algae that is building up at the bottom of the tank) and also sleeping! (Dona is a sleeper trooper!) Although she sleeps more than Raphael she has her time! Usually after feeding and bathing, Dona will be very active, it is her swim time! So to say she is good at dividing her time! After all Dona is a diva!

Told ya! That is Dona's favorite thing to do! Basking on the rock! While Raphael busied himself with :

ENDLESS SWIMMING THAT IS!

Alright I am off to capture some turtles moments! Here you go with a turtle joke!

Improvements for our babies

Yeah! I know a lot of turtle lovers will look at our initial tank and be like "They are doing everything wrong" Of course that small little plastic tank is just sort of a plastic gift box (Remember?! These babies are my birthday present), hubby and I went out to get all the items needed to give them a conducive, happy home the next day. How my sister puts it? Upgrading from a terrace house to a bungalow for these two cheekies!

Went out on the weekend to get all the equipment for them. Yes sliders (that is the right species name! I was told last time it was GREEN TURTLE!? And that had caused me to not get any information online about them!) need a big space to swim and to bask! I got a little experience with my previous turtle and hence it was easier this time! We went to various aquariums and pet shops to get a complete set of "required" things.

Went to the first shop and it pisses me off a little! You know why? When we asked about the sizes and variety of tanks they carried, the guy started to lecture us about "WHY YOU NEED SUCH A BIG TANK FOR "GREEN TURTLES"?" "THEY ONLY NEED PLASTIC TANK SO YOU CAN CHANGE THEIR WATER EVERY ALTERNATE DAY" "WHY NEED HEATER?! THEY DON'T NEED HEATER?! NORMAL TAP WATER WILL BE JUST NICE" "DON'T WASTE MONEY GETTING THINGS YOU DON'T NEED?!?" "I NEVER HEARD OF "GREEN TURTLE" NEED ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PLASTIC TANK" Now that just pissed me off so hubby and I walked off saying "Thanks for your information" We just went to another shop to get em! This guy do not know a thing about Red Eared Sliders! We do not want to waste our time and our money on him!

The best part of the whole thing is the journey around town with hubby! We went to a pet shop in Setia Indah and we bought the biggest tank there, the tubes for water change, the rocks and the turtle ladder! After that we went to few shops but they only sell dogs and cats items. We finally found the one that sold us the basking lamp and also the heater at Johor Jaya Aquarium shop! We even went back to the shop where hubby got the turtles from and got a tank filter and some supplements for them. So hence quickly we headed home to set up the new living space for our little ones!

This is our first attempt! Errr! That is not a very smart improvement to be honest! We modified the turtle ladder with the rough cloth so that they can climb because the original ladder came with a layer of fake grass and these kids like to nibble on it! One of them even swallowed a small bit of it (No worries, she later vomited it out) but we do not want further hazard so we change the grass to the cloth! Yet this is a FAIL! Both turtles seems to like the rock but not the ladder! They were never up there! They will climb halfway and then jump down and hit their head on the rock! So it was a bad idea after all! Plus they like to climb on the rock and rest there, the plastic from the ladder blocks direct lighting when they are on the rocks so we had to put our thinking caps on and improvised!

Ta-dah! Smarter now! With this, they have place to bask directly under the light (Oh! They loved it) and then they can have bigger space to swim, underneath and above and everywhere! Ha! Ha! The one near the rock is Dona! And the one near the filter is Raphael! (Yeah we name them after Ninja Turtles - Funny!) So here is to happy turtles times and they are indeed growing! Last I checked Rap is getting fatter too! So my prayers to my Heavenly Father is the same! That they will grow strong, healthy and live a full life with us! So for now Care-Bears Mama OUT!

Sometimes In Life

Sometimes in life we do not understand about why certain sets of things had to happen. Flashing back 6 years ago, I was so heart-broken, I kept questioning why must such thing happened to me?! I was down and out, without much hope because I couldn't see much what the future holds for me! The only thing I can do is trust God, remembering listening to the same Hillsongs' record over and over again and reading the Bible three times a day, every time I started to cry! Remembering praying unceasingly for God to make me understand why and how long will my broken heart start to meant!

That was then, this is NOW! My sister told me that she met some people from the old church we left some many years ago! That had me thinking a lot and hence this post! Many things went through my mind when I was told these people just ignored my mom and sister even though obviously they still recognized them! I started to make scenarios in my head! The famous "WHAT IFS"

First scenario will be what if that heart break did not happened (Oh! Please! That heartbreak is the  major right thing in life) If that doesn't happened I guess I will have to take that walk of shame in front of them because basically I will be there with my mom and my sis having breakfast and that time it will have to be confrontation and tongues will start wagging and I will be the saddest and laughing stock of the whole entire church, that will be like "Oh you know" well I am happy that doesn't happen!

And this life today I can say thank God for the blessings and He knows what is best for us at all times! All we need is to trust in Him! Right now I can walk tall because I have passed through that tunnel of long dreary nights of crying and hopelessness to be able to stand here and tell you, I am married to the best husband of God's choice! I left where it was and have arrived where I am now and it was something that I am proud of and thank you Lord for arranging everything in your most beautiful of times!

All happy faces! That's what things will be if we rely on the Lord
Hashtag-throwback, hashtag-wedding2012, hashtag-joy, hashtag-tilldeath

And yeah, I read some of the craziest rules on wedding days imposed by brides & grooms! One of the most bizarre one will be no cameras or videos other than the professional photographers hired for the special day! For me I totally disagree with that! I agree if you are celebrities and would want some privacy or maybe "People's" has agreed to the exclusive right to publishing your photos for a big sum of money but if you are a normal couple, it will be advisable to have these "helpful" friends and relatives held their smart devices in hand! With that being said I would like to thank my Auntie Hong for recording the BEST video that we missed to put importance in during the planning of our wedding - THE MARCH IN VIDEO! I could only thank God she had her phone on hand and that is all I had of that special day February 2012!

Me. I am Sharon! A Mariah Fan

Been a fan for a long time now! Been loving her long time eh! Ha! Ha! Since her album Daydream. Remembering singing along *It's a sweet! sweet! fantasy baby* Yeah! That was 15 years ago! Now this is a long awaited album! 5 years since her last "Memoirs of an imperfect angel" love that one but this one is a bit of a not so Mariah type of music! Me. I am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse.

I love Mariah because she made great music like those in Memoirs & E=MC2! These are crazy winning albums with hit after hit after hit! As for this, the moment the first song "CRY" came up, I realized that this is more like a "Glitter" kind of album she released some time ago! The beat, the settings and the whole thing!

Nonetheless I still enjoyed many songs from the whole album! Especially the one where she cover George Michael's song "One More Try" that had me pressing replay many many times! "For an uptown boy, who's teacher has told him goodbye" It will take some time before I warmed up to them all I guess. But no worries I always always love myself some Mariah and her music had kept me going, singing along for a long time now!

My all time favorite song from Mariah? Well too many to choose from but definitely got to be BUTTERFLY. Yeap! "But.... I'll stand and say goodbye! For you'll never be mine... Until you know the way it feels to FLYYYYYY....

Ok! I gotta go listen to Mariah sing now! Byeezzzz dahhling! *Mariah Style*

My new babies!

Yeap! This is what my hubby bought me for my birthday yesterday! Was screaming crazy and happy when hubby bought them out of his car as we were going for our romantic dinner! My! My! My! I am so jolly happy! Being 31 still makes me jump with excitement like a little kid! I was beaming the whole journey to the restaurant! Was way happy for words as I played with them.

It was the search for them that touches me! Hubby had to sneak out during lunch hours to find them! Matter of fact they were not very popular here in Johor! Hubby went from pet shop to pet shop until he managed to get them in a remote place in Johor! Awww! That was touching! Touching but sneaky! Few nights, he came back a little late from usual but did not tell me he went in search of these babies!

I wasn't expecting them actually but was thankful for them! Hubby wants me to be happy, I lost my last one due to negligence in my part! I moved away from my mom's without bringing him along! I had the last one for almost 3 years and he was very huge! I still miss him a lot! Everytime I talked about Tix (that is what we (my sis and I) named him) I had tears in my eyes! I still blamed myself for what happened! Hence hubby wants me to move on and make new memories with these two! They still don't have names yet but I know we will think of some as time passed!

Now to the new chapter of our lives together! We introduced our Care-a-Lot new edition! Love these babies and of course my boys love them too! Just finish feeding them and bathing them! Now they are clean and running around making noise in their little island home! He! He! Till then my prayers to my Father in Heaven is that they will grow with us and have a healthy fulfilling long life! Amen!

Book Looting - May 2014

Not so much as book looting but still a good price... Buy 3 at the price of 2.. Manage to save up to 65 ringgit. Not too shabby! This is to add to my existing John Grisham's books. Now I got 14 of his books, that left me 9 more to go... To make a complete set in my home library! Just like the complete set of Sophie Kinsella collection I already have now!

I am excited to re-read all this once again. I actually read them all except 'The Last Juror' & 'The Litigators' the last time but many of those I got from the library. Since Grisham is one my favorite author (the other being Kinsella) I guess I have to have all his books.

Hence it's going to be a marathon, but I have to finish reading the final book of the LOTR trilogy! I am now halfway accompanying Sam to save Frodo so that the three of us (Oh! Gollum too! That makes 4 of us) could go cast 'The One Ring' into Mount Doom!

So have a happy day ahead... Chooooo... Chooooooo ahead!

Lousy Lousy Thing Indeed

What a lousy lousy thing just happened! My less than a year geek geek glasses is broken! How can expansive stuff be of 'pasar malam' (night market) quality?

What worst is that, I seldom wore it out, usually I have my contact lenses on. From what I checked the little hook that held the arm together is broken! It is not the screw as I thought but the frame itself. How can that be?

Apparently this makes me emo! I want to say thank you to my old glasses for having my back or in this case my eyesight! I guess old is really gold. My old glasses although out of fashion, has never disappoint me. I had it for almost 10 years before I decided to change it. Now I am back to using it I guess..

Got to go back to that lousy shop and see what they can do to it. Most probably said they cannot do anything and needed more money to repair as predicted! We will see... Guess the husband will have words of sacarsm for them! Good luck ya!

Stickers, Stickers Time

Husband and I's new project... Collecting stamps for knives set from Aeon... Being married somehow domesticated me! I am excited over this thing and all...

Looking at it, we are doing our best to get em in.. Total amount of targeted stamps is 90.. Long way to go, still keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah everything can be bought with a price but it is somewhat fun to do this, especially we groceries shop every weekend at Aeon, so its nice to get something out of it. We are getting real close to the first vegetable knife but that is not what we want yet! We have 60 to go and about 3 months left! Can we? Maybe yes! We'll see!

Right now is sticker sticker time..

Hanging with my sister in JPO is a must when she came to visit me. Hence where do we chill when we have done the whole shopping thing and bought a couple of window or two.. Starbucks definitely is our favorite hound..

So here we are adding up some calories. Sis is humming-birding and blueberries slobbish-ness for me then and down it with a portion of hot tea each in our thermos thingy... What could be better.. Oops it's raining outside so it's perfect that we are indoor now...

An Instant Noodle Indeed

So not me, guess what I ate a while ago for lunch? Yeah instant noodle in a cup or whatever you call it..

Been craving for it back in Europe. Started in Prague when the weather is so cold and I couldn't get any hot soup in town, my mind started to wander back home to the easiest to prepare stuff and I haven't stop thinking about it since then.

Remember hubby and I went searching for it in the local market and found none... We did finally found one in a large shopping area in Vienna but it was not quite the same. It was some dehydrated pasta with soup but nonetheless fair enough..

Forgotten about it until I went shopping on my own today and grabbed it as it caught my eyes by the aisle. Got home and put the kettle on and now I am enjoying my noodle. Funny thing is, it's been so long since I ate it and I over poured the hot water and it taste real blunt. (We supposed to pour hot water below the line indicated! Bummer! I am the only one in the world to ever forget this. I guess!) Was reminded by my sister, the last time I had an instant noodle was when we vacay at Kota Kinabalu about ten months ago.. Wow that was indeed long. Anyway it's been yummy for one time in a long time.

This is the situation right now at home... I have to pack my luggage in the guest room because there are just way too many things to bring... Oops the husband has reminded me more than once 'remember the weight limit and distribute them evenly'

Ok let's get to work as vacation is only two days away... Ooo the heart is definitely excited.

I got everything we need here.. Books, lotions, a lot of sweaters, new shoes, new shades, new bag, new pants and of course new puffy jacket to stay in trend! Hubby too got some stuff! Ha! Ha! Yay.... A girl's dream is about to come true... Snow...

The Day I Made Prawn Noodle

Guess what my kitchen cooked up today? Yeap.. I decided to make prawn noodle. Husband and I love the prawn noodles at Pappa Rich cafe but ever since they raised the price to beyond our acceptable value (after all it's just kangkong right... Ha! Ha!) for food in general, we had stopped going altogether. It's all about value of money... For the amount of money paid, we can cooked up two bowls (I think more than 2 bowls) of delicious prawn noodles at home.

It is indeed satisfactory. I even add in some 'yong tao foo' ingredients making it like how we used to get from auntie stall back in my mom's place in Klang. Actually it wasn't my first time making but this is the first time I made posting.

All the preparation is nothing compare to sitting down and enjoying a bowl of hot noodle each.. Yum!

A Year Since....

Yeap! Today rings in the 1 year since I befriended my friend Pally, my buddy the treadmill! Remembering the day that I got very tired of the fat jokes and decided to make a strict determination to lose em weight...

Now... 1 year later, 23 pounds lighter, I felt so much better! Thank you Pally... You can keep the fat! I don't want them back EVER!

Midday Rambling Alert!

Current Mode: Sacarstic / Preachy

Before I start rambling, all the wives who cook a full meal around the world every single day join me in taking this insult! Someone just called instant noodle & fried rice cooking, fantastic and great and yummy and all the adjectives reckon for a complete meal!

For me, a woman should ace in cooking and being able to cook a few dishes doesn't make you a Michelin Star holder or front page subject! It is in us to be able to do it if we wanted to! Therefore I felt insulted when I read a post equating 'fried rice' 'most delicious' 'excellent cook' in one sentence!

Now I am a self declared Michelin Star holder! Err nope make that two as everything is exaggerated here. One star for western and another one for eastern cuisine, after all fried rice is great excellent food! Yeap sacarsm runs in my family!

Guess what I ate for lunch? Yeap instant noodle! This is no normal instant noodle from the pack! I prepare the soup from vegetable broth, I put in egg and spinach! Hey one would not expect any less for an international cook like myself right! I never eat maggie for lunch but since for sacarsm sake I cook it anyway! Ha!

Alright I am gonna stop now as I am beginning to hate myself! Have a great day ahead! Love and kisses. Meow!

My-wannabe-smart-QUOTE OF THE DAY #11

If you are at the lowest point of your life and needs to break down, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT do it in front of many people because there certainly will be one or two who do not want you to forget they were there when you clearly had already moved on and am living a new happy life! So be wise, if you need to break down, go back home close the door and do it on your own or in front of one or two closest people you can trust!

Home-cooked Goodie For Anniversary

Just like any special occasion, we like to do a home dinner. Today I done a very simple and easy to cook meal. Here I had prepared a medium rare steak with garlic rosemary marinate, butter rice and pan seared potato with olives, capsicum & tomatoes for side as main, deviled eggs for appetizer and chowder as soup.

Agree with hubby that if one is diligent we get to eat good delicious food for half or one third of the price. We have a lot of fun and happy anniversary to hubby my love.

Hot and hotter

Yeah that is what I am feeling now! The weather is just crazy! I am standing here at my counter top and typing this.. If one can see me they will feel yucky yuck! I am perspiring like mad! I wonder when will the weather be cooling again. I felt like I am living in Sahara or some kind of desert! It's hot hot hot during the day and cold and windy at night! Or even better in an oven.

As I can obviously see it is 36 degree C  and mostly cloudy now! Ha!

Here is the view from my home, from the kitchen area! Although the picture doesn't show clearly it is indeed very hot and smoky or hazy..

♥♥ Life's Little Enjoyment #6 - A Cup Of Some

Not an ardent coffee fan.. I am one of those people that go and hangs at Starbucks and order a cup of hot tea! (Ok I rarely hangs at coffee joint or buy any coffee from any coffee franchise! I know it is cool to do it but nope! Not cool enough for me... Although I enjoyed my time with my sis there occasionally)

With that being said! I would like to recommend this wonderful tasting coffee in my coffee breath! It is not very expansive but the taste is just simply luxurious. Love love love! "Costa Rican Freeze Dried Instant Coffee" from Tesco! As it is obvious, I just 'wolf' down the last cup and now I need to go get more! With simple 2:3:1 ratio of coffee, low fat milk and sugar, we get what I call 'Carebucks' coffee... Tasty and affordable! See sharing is caring indeed!

2nd Year of all good things

18-Feb-2014, marks the second anniversary of the biggest decision we made in our lives. Hubby and I decided to officially annoy each other for the rest of our lives on earth!

We have weathered ups and downs during this two years of being married. We fought, we took beating & we overcame much obstacles thus far and I know we will be ever stronger with each passing years. Together we will emerge champion as we share laugh, love, fun, 'luck' and bed together ;)

I thank our Father in Heaven and will continue to look to Him for  bigger blessing and bonus in our union together.

Dear hubby,
You will always be my king, my love and my man! I got all I want in YOU!

The song from Alicia Keys - Not Even the King captures what my emotion for now precisely!

Money...
Some people so poor; all that they've got is money...
Oh, and diamonds...
Some people waste their life counting their thousands...

I don't care what they're offering...
How much gold they bring?
They can't afford what we've got,
Not even the king...
They can't afford what we've got,
Not even the king...

Oh, castles...
Some people so lonely; what good is a castle
Surrounded by people?
But ain't got a friend that's not on the payroll...

Oh, and I don't care what they bring;
They can have everything...
They can't afford what we've got,
Not even the king...
They can't afford what we've got,
Not even the king...

All the king's horses and all the king's men
Came charging to get what we got...
They offered the crown and the offered the throne;
I already got all that I want...

All the king's horses and all the king's men;
They came marching through...
They offered the world just to have what we got,
But I found the world in you...
I found the world in you...

So darling, listen:
Your arms around me worth more than a kingdom...
Yeah, believe that
The trust that we feel the kings never felt that...

Yeah, this is the song we sing...
We don't need anything...
They can't afford this;
This is priceless...

Can't afford what we've got,
Not even the king...
Can't afford what we've got,
Not even the king...

Love... Sharon.
