Bits & Pieces That Re-surface!

Ever had this kind of moments? When things that people said suddenly made sense to you after a long time? Or a joke suddenly sounded funnier when you finally understood the sarcasm behind the obvious! Well that happens to me many times! I had moments when things that people told me does not mean anything but I smile anyway until somehow much later (much much later) I smile all by myself (like a mad lady) because I finally got it!

This incident just happened to me five minutes ago and I had the need to bitch about it instantly! These words were uttered to me some 30 months ago when I was planning my wedding. When this particular person said these to me, I was so busy running through my wedding plans and assignments that I paid no mind to him until now! SUDDENLY!

These are the actual words! "Do you know Wings (A person name)? I think you should invite her to your wedding but before that you can get to know her! She is planning an ultra modern wedding as well, with the cost of 100,000 ringgit & I think she has a lot of contacts and stuff to get things done!"

My answer?! I dunno that person and I don't need her! Thanks (Back to flipping my notes)

I think my nonchalance at that very moment was the right reaction because properly understanding the remarks right now makes me a little pissy! What did he meant by I should get to know this person so that she could help me?! And what's with the big budget on the neon board before the wedding even happened? Come on!

  • Each and every person has their own preferences and ways of doing things especially this is my big day! Yeah she is planning an ultra modern wedding but I am planning a cozy small event to celebrate love! If I need someone to plan it for me! I can afford a wedding planner! We decided to do it ourselves because it will be more meaningful
  • Just because I did not loud about the money spend doesn't mean mine is lousier!
  • Who said I do not have the contacts? I still manage to put everything in place! There were things that cocked up but still the event went on!
  • That person 100K wedding happened in a Chinese restaurant & Chinese restaurants already provide half of the items required for the dinner to go on! They do not have to put up a menu, decorations, tents and so on and so forth! As my reception was on the poolside area and ceremony happened in the garden gazebo, we have to plan everything from tent to food to chairs & tables, to decorations & flowers, to band and everything in between!
  • Plus what do you mean by ultra modern?! Idea curi-ed from Christian walking down the aisle with 4 flower girls and 12 "ala-ala bridesmaids" is Ultra Modern?!? Come on man! Need me to elaborate more on it?!
  • To add to the statement! I knew the bridegroom not the bride and this guy was complaining on the low about the wedding stress & the cost, their newly bought house in Setia Alam & the reason why he is marrying her while trying to hit on my girlfriend & I. I am not going to comment on the matter any further!

For me, I just do not think I need to be boastful about things and I am that kind of person that practices "Don't let the sun set on your anger!" so I am just going to chill and do life with a smile after all its been 2 years since this thing happened! Look forward and Happy 2014! (We still in the mood right coz we are just 7 days in!)

This seems so long ago!
Since conversation of 2 years ago suddenly came to light so this is not to late to be shared!
Sweet moment indeed! Still manage this pose even-though our backs were aching!

2014 - The year of SMALL WONDERS - Elephant Cloud

Told myself to blog more coming 2014! I will not called this resolution because I will then have to feel guilty for not being able to achieve yet another one on the list on December 2014! Nothing special about my life! I don't foresee myself making money from blogging but I would love to share some really nice stuff that I encounter from day to day!

I called this year 2014, the year of small wonders! At times we always strive for the big things that we forget how wonderful the things that surrounds us! We become so numb towards life that we couldn't find time to stand still and smell the flower or feel the wind blow on our faces! So I dedicate this year to doing so! Stand still and look around!

I encountered this beautiful cloud sometime ago! Clouds takes on different shapes everyday and people can see the same cloud but yet perceived it differently! For me the moment I see this very cute cloud, I told my husband, I saw an ELEPHANT! My husband who knows me for being absurd, told me to be more specific as we live in city center and not a nature park! Here it is! For you to judge! Sorry that most of my pictures are taken on my old 3Gs! People that know me will have words for me and my answers will be "Yeah! I am still holding that old scrawny phone! It is still faithfully working! So no need to change it YET"

Holiday @ Sabah with Parents

We started so many tradition this year! Ha! Ha! Maybe that is one of the sign that I am getting older! We love to settle for stability and norms! Well this is one of them... It is to bring both our parents (My mom and my hubby's dad) for a trip each year! We realize that as time passed very quickly, we should never take our parents for granted! As we mature and grow they also are not getting any younger! I always wanted to treat them the best I can (although at times we do disagree (with my mom) and I do get agitated (with my FIL)) when they are still around! As we were given to them by God when we were a child and they did their best to bring us up, now it is our turn to treat them as a gift that we should appreciate no matter what!

So hubby and I as much as we are blessed would love to bless our parents! The best thing about holiday is that we get to spend time together and at the same time enjoy exploring new places together! This year we choose Sabah! As this is the first time, we take it as a trial run for bigger holidays to know our parent's preferences as this is getting in-laws together! Things turn out to be pretty great as my mom and my FIL got along pretty well! Thank God also that my mom was feeling good and no dizziness of any sort (well it runs in our family! Mom, my auntie, my sister and I are haunted by it). Hence we can planned for bigger holidays after this!

It was a short getaway but it was really nice! We flew from Senai while our parents flew from KL. We arrived earlier to scout things out perfectly. We booked ourselves into Hyatt Kinabalu and it was perfectly beautiful and convenient. Just right at the center of food, shopping and sea!

Check out the beautiful view right from our hotel lounge! Nice weather too when we arrived.

Excited girl girl waiting for our suite to be ready! Wait! Wait! Waiting in the lounge with drinks and stuff! But we decided on juices as its still to early for alcohol!

Our suite living hall

One of the rooms!

We had our plans in hand and upon check-in we were ready to leave our stuff and went for a little date first prior our parents arrival! I was a little hungry but not very as we just chomped down KFC upon arrival at the Sabah airport! Ha! Ha! That has become our ritual as well, to eat KFC or McD before departure or upon arrival!  So yeah!

Highlight of the first day would be the dinner! Yum! Yum! As my family and close friends would know, I am not one that would go eating at places with no proper shops or just a makeshift tents but I will give this one a pass! The seafood is just too tempting that it made me come down from my high horse for this moment! ;)

Yeap! It is just this fresh! We ordered right off the "pasar"

Sit down and wait for our food to arrive! Ta-dah! We had a lot and was full!
Looking at this picture makes my mouth water! I missed the Tom-Yam fish! It was so so nice!

We had Tom Yam Fish (Hubster & my favorite), Steam Fish, Ginger Lala, Spicy Shellfish, Butter Cream Lobster and Crab! We were all very full after dinner and decided to go for a walk around town even though we are very tired and tomorrow scheduled is just way pack! All arranged by CareBears Tours!

Cheeky boys are up to naughtiness at the room bar & we caught them when we arrived back to our hotel!

Day 2
Woke up early in-spite going to sleep late yesterday night. After breakfast we are ready to rock-n-roll! Ha! Ha!

Collected our ride for the day! We rented a Vios from a nearby Rent-A-Car.
Price for it is MYR280 per day if I am not mistaken!
It is cheaper to rent a car then to hire a driver since we are all Malaysian with Malaysian driving license!

Yeap! The car was alright! I am not here to review it but out of 5 stars I will only give it a 2 maybe! I am being very generous here! I believe Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear will be much cruel when it comes to reviewing it! Yeah of late me and hubby are running a marathon of watching Top Gear! Ha! Ha! Ok that is another story all together! But i learned so much from just watching it! Ha! Ha! Quite informative for such a entertaining show!

Here we go! Princeton is excited as well!

We went to a few places :

Marine Park! This turtle likes to take pictures!
It basically kept swimming into your camera focus to get himself a pic!
And that makes us very happy of course!

See what I told you! The turtle basically just holding hands with my mom!
My mom's expression was just priceless! Ha! Ha!

Next up! Kinabalu Park! This is really worth the while!
We are not doing any mountain climbing so this is the best spot for photo!

Finally got a kind soul to take picture for us!
This is priceless! We love this picture the most!

After spending hours on Mt Kinabalu, we went to Rumah Terbalik!
This is one of those tourist trap! It was fun seeing it though!
One time must go! That's all I can say!

What I told you?! Toilet also terbalik! How to pee pee?!
Hey no peeping and no pictures darling! Ha! Ha!

The great part about going on holiday with mom?!
Well she bought me a minion cupcake!
He! He! Still manja with mommy!

It was a wet wet day but thank God it came at the end of our visit, so off we went to enjoy our hotel facilities!

Our trip was an enjoyable one and we had great time together as a family! ;)

Merry Christmas 2013 - It's all about the FAMILY

Happy Christmas! A week after Christmas, I now have time to sit down and write about it. This Christmas had been busy for me! Care-A-Lot Hotel has the opportunity to hold both our families under our roof! Yay!

Let me start of by saying Christmas nowadays is just a little overrated and taken out of contrast! It is both bittersweet to know people around the world are celebrating it but it is also sad to know that many who do, just didn't know why Christmas was celebrated in the first place! If you ask around you will get all kind of answers, for example, Christmas is about present, nicely decorated trees, lights, musics and worst still Reindeer and Santa Claus! No matter how adorable St. Nick is being portrayed I do not agree with him! I detest him as much as I detest people who uses the word Merry Xmas! Why Xmas?! The same reason as they celebrate Christmas for all the wrong reason! They X the Christ out of Christmas hence they get Xmas! So they could go on celebrating their habit of spending without any guilt! Celebrating Christmas without knowing the real reason is like celebrating our mom, sister, spouse or children birthday without having them around! Sort of like "Syok Sendiri"

For me I too could also easily get lost in the preparations as well! The making of cards, gift-tags, setting up the Christmas Tree, shopping for the perfect gifts for each person, getting the house ready for the arrival of my guests, sneaking out on my own to buy pressie for hubby or even preparing the menu for Christmas dinner and buying groceries can get overwhelming at times! I had to stop and remind myself the real reason for Christmas!

Our Christmas Tree so stuffed with gifts!
Aww! Makes one feel like a kid, excited and couldn't wait for Christmas morning!

We had a great time during this Christmas and for me Christmas is about SERVING! The best way I can serve is to cook up a meal for my family! I prepared the list in advance as it is very difficult to cater to a bunch of people with very diverse eating preferences! My Father in law does not eat spicy food, my mom non fat and my auntie is a selected vegetarian! (as she eats seafood) So you could guess my headache when I prepare the menu so that I can have everybody in it! But for Christmas everyone compromised a little and here are some of the stuff I cooked up!

We had our fills and we even took turn to thank the Lord, I think this will be our Christmas tradition from this year onwards! (Yeap the thanksgiving) We had roast turkey with potatoes sides, portabello mushroom with asparagus stuffing, chowder, stir fried zucchini with red pepper & of course spaghetti in red & white sauce. I am happy to see everyone feeling extremely full and having a great time!

Here are some pictures of us goffying away!

Warning : Heard the chef of Care-A-Lot Christmas dinner is a poser!
So here I am stirring my chowder and posing at the same time!
Yummy!

Yeah! The husband in action!
He is perfecting the distribution of spaghetti with algebra I guess! Bravo! Bravo!
As for me! Pose la, apa lagi!

I pose while husband operate on the wine! Ha! Ha!
Sharon to the rescue! Guess what?! I have the wine-opener eh!
Why are you using the kitchen scissors?!

Yeah! The cook celebrates the success of cooking for 6 & the operation of the wine!
Let's booze away! (Just kidding!)

Alright! Enough of goofying around! Sit down for the meal everybody!
Too bad my sister is not in the picture!
But check out my overexcited mommy! Peace'ing away!

After dinner & the plates had been cleared away!
It's time to bring out the cake!

Happy Birthday my dearest savior! Thank you for choosing to come to us and love us!

Merry Christmas everyone! May your Christmas be as joyful and meaningful each year!

Christmas Yearly Tradition - Singapore Lighting 2013

Yeah! I know! I am suppose to do the Christmas post before the new year post! Now it is downside up! Just like I said, I get a little lazy uploading the pictures so I finally got my lazy self to plug in the camera to the computer. So now I got loads to share!

Christmas every year, hubby and I got a tradition! We will drive all the way to Singapore to watch the lighting at Orchard Road. Before that, we will fly in a week before Christmas just to walk through the crowded street and enjoy the Christmassy atmosphere along the way! Now we just drove, one of the perk of staying in Johor! This is the third year we are doing that! Although every time after sitting in the causeway jam for hours we will swore off going to see it next year, still when the time comes we will pack all our kids (7+1) in the car and off we go!

This year trip did not start all too well! We planned our little sight-seeing on a Friday (BAD IDEA!). Friday is a day where there are terrible jams everywhere & to add to the severity of it, Christmas is just 5 days away! By the the time the husband arrived home it was about 6.30pm and by the time we were out the door, it 7.30pm, we got a quick bite at McD and when we started along the Causeway getting our passport stamped it was already 9.00pm and I was feeling a little dizzy from i-don't-know-what-was-the-reason?! So one could guess the mood wasn't really as great as it was the last year! Plus to make the matter worst! Our car were right behind a heavily modify old Lancer with lousy exhaust sound! It was like a terrible radio show that cannot be shut down! It went Vrroooo-Vroooo without the VROOM beside us the whole time! That dampened my mood all the more but hubby was sweet and he tried to cheer the mood up by telling me jokes and thank goodness after a few sips of Coke my terrible headache was gone! Kudos to Coke and now I wonder what you guys put in! From washing toilet, removing rust to curing headaches! Wow! You should change your name to Miracle Soda!

After sitting in the jam for hours finally we arrived. After consecutively going to watch the Christmas decorations, I would say this year's was a little plain compare to all the years before! The years before the whole street were decked with various colors ornaments and trinkets while each shopping malls and hotels compete to be the most extravagant amongst all but this year it is was just little plain.

This is the main street, we were late when we arrived so there were very little cars around but the crowd were mulling about! Ok correction! This is Singapore, they have better public transport, so maybe people prefer to travel by whatever means of public transportation there are!

Like I said compare to last year, we call this year simple. Simple but nice! Husband joked that this year its about going all "muhibah" (meaning Harmony in Malaysia) as they had "ketupats" (it is a local rice delicacy eat with satay) on trees. (It just a joke people! Don't jump at us ok! A lot of sensitive people in Malaysia). Although I don't see the ketupats but still anything that makes the husband happy right! Ha! Ha!

Here is the mentioned "ketupats"
I see it as more like an oversize Christmas trinkets the ones we had at home!

I didn't take much pictures because I committed a treason for travelling! I did not charge the camera and it ran out of juice halfway. My old faithful iPhone camera just suck so hubby offered me his Samsung phone that I did not know how to maneuver even-though he had taught me for the billionth times! Blame Apple for making their phones so user friendly (No arguing coz I ran an autocratic life here) ! Like I always said "Smarter phones stupider users" I manage to get a few but it still stuck in his phone!

I am no experts in photography and with my throbbing head this is the last one I took before my camera die on me! I like this!

This are a few combine shots from the sidewalks! And this is just so pretty!
I know we are beginning to have some of these in Malaysia but like I said it is a tradition and we will still go and see every year!

In-spite of everything I still feel happy on my way home! (Although we still had to sit through two hours of jam minus the Vrooo-Vrooo car! Thank God!) It was the time spent with hubby and my colorful kids that makes everything cheerful! No dizziness, camera problem or hours of traffic jams can erase yet another beautiful memory we made!

So among so many which is the one I like the most? The answer is Tangs' decoration! They always have this Bible Verse on the external side of their building and I always anticipate the verse they are going to put up because after all that is the REAL reason for Christmas! The Lord be glorified! This year it was Psalms 84:4 "Blessed are those who dwell in your house, they are ever praising you" Amen! Always be reminded Christmas is the season where we remember Christ and I can say irregardless! This is the one decoration that reminds & enthrones the KING! The real reason for Christmas!

Happy New Year 2014

I went on some kind of hibernation mode for a while! Nope! I think it was just lazy mode I guess! Every time I read a really good blog I will tell myself "Should go back to my blog" and I will get all "gang-ho" and started to create what I wanted to write in my head but when I got to the front of my computer everything just "shoosh!" lost in the air! How good if they invented something that can actually let me air-write (Oh! They do have that now?!? Technologies! Hashtag: I am so outdated) Then there is this "I am too lazy to upload those pictures from my camera" moments because nobody will be interested in a post that has no pictures in it! (Ok! They have air-transfers or whatever they call it as well! Tell me about that?! I guess I have to crawl back into the cave that I just came out a while ago!) Anyway just wanted to say:

Happy New Year Everyone!
Out with the bad and in with the better and greater opportunities for 2014!

Overall, 2013 had been good to me and hubby! We are beyond blessed and of course with hurdles and challenges to face! Everyday wasn't a smooth ride for us! We are constantly thrown with challenges and even as we ringed in new year yesterday we are still walking cautiously on eggshells, praying and hoping for the best (Our marriage is FINE! No worries on the home front! Thank God) We are constantly looking to the better part of everything! And knowing that good things come to those who patiently wait upon the Lord! (Just continue to keep us in prayers especially the hubby!)

2013 has overall been very good to us! We got very blessed materially! We even bought our own home here in Johor! Held our house-warming party! Thank God! Been blessed with a new car! It was all great! We acknowledge where our source come from! God our Heavenly Father is gracious and He has provided and we believe He will continue to provide! Thank God for good health as well......

We continue to hope! And yeah! Christmas was good! Our families came together and we celebrated Christmas together here in Johor in our new home ;) Pictures will be posted up soon! It was fun playing host to our families!

Well! Here goes to a more excellent 2014! Stay healthy and gorgeous everyone!

Our humble abode!
