This year Valentine's Day is a little wee-bit special. We are celebrating our first V-day as husband and wife! We will be each other's V-day for the rest of our life! I believe that V-day is so commercialize nowadays and that it is now nothing but a hype! Therefore, hubby and I had started a tradition, we shall celebrate V-day every year with home cook candlelit dinner. Matter of fact we have started this tradition last year! When we decided to stay in and have pizza and drink cold beer with tv on whole night! Chit-chatting in our own house! To celebrate love should be an everyday gesture and not just on 14th February every year!
We checked out the jam that started right after lunch and cringed! Imagined the time we have to spend on the road (being that Malaysia is infamous for jam!), we have to rush home and get ourselves prep up, glam up and dress up for the dinner! And then we will have to sit in the jam for almost an hour to get to the place that usually would take fifteen minutes to arrive! Once we arrive, we will have to line up just to get into a restaurant! (But I have made reservation one week ahead! The waiter will coldly reply "So what! Many other made reservation two to three weeks ahead! Its Valentine Day! You will be serve in a while!) With empty stomach, we are made to wait, once we are inside! We will have to choose for SET A, SET B, SET C and etc! All of it is pre-cooked and basically took hours like the food were flown in to be served! Then the noise! No matter how much luxury dining! And how hush you want it to be, a place filled with people of all races and all wallet thickness will surely have a little more than peaceful dining! Lastly the price? Twice compare to normal days! Remember to appreciate your significant other everyday! A kiss on the cheek, a thank you for the meal, a "you look pretty today", an occasional gifts and most of all "I love you" means more than an expansive meal on a jammed pack day! We all have read your Facebook check-ins and yes we know you are all over town every other day! So not necessary V-Day!
So as to celebrate our first Valentine's Day as husband and wife! We have a home cookout candlelit dinner! Right at our dining table. What is more perfect is we celebrate it with our 6 colorful sons.....
Although this is just a simple meal but both of us really enjoy the time spend together and its been a very meaningful Valentine's Day! Cost? Less than MYR50 (I guess), Hassle? None at all!
